My deepest sympathies to Mark's family and friends. I went to the Claude L Bonsey grammar school in Surry with Mark and George Stevens Academy. Being just three years older than Mark I remember those days of playing on the playground in elementary school, pickup team basketball, baseball, football and king of the mountain are some of the activities I know we did together in those days.. I was shocked to see Mark's name in the Ellsworth American. I am saddened to see such young, entrepreneurial guy leave this life far too soon. Godspeed to you Mark and may you Rest in Peace. My brother Floyd passed away just last year, also way to early but he knew Mark's older sister Joan , they too attended GSA together. Prayers for the Higgins family. Bill Barker Surry

I knew Mark through his cleaning business, and he will be missed. He was so incredibly kind to me and my family, and it was clear that he genuinely cared. Sending peaceful thoughts to his family and friends during this time.

I am so incredibly sad to hear about the loss of Mark. We had some great times working together at Hancock County Jail over the years with some great conversation. Sending love to his family during this incredibly sad time.

I worked with Mark at Sunrise. He was always ready with a smile, and a joke.
He was a great guy, I will remember him fondly. -Michelle Loiselle

I have so many great memories of Mark but the best has to be when mom was cleaning the cottage my parents cared for we blew up a rubber raft and got out in contention cove and Mark starts laughing as I was rowing and I look and he pulled the airplug out!

Q: How would you describe Mark to someone who had never met them?
A: He was a great person. Always available to talk, share stories, advice, and just laugh. His work with the students was valuable and life changing for those who met him. He’ll be missed by so many.

Mark was a great man! He had a contagious smile and can do attitude no matter the circumstances. I have known mark the better part of my adult life and have worked side by side with him mostly in public service. Mark was always the voice of reason for everyone, including myself. I was his supervisor and often looked to him for guidance if this tells you anything.
Mark will be missed by sooo many; but has changed sooo many people for the better. He leaves an incredible legacy that will never be forgotten.
Mark, may you rest in peace my friend.
