I was thinking about you today as I do sometimes. You were a wonderful uncle. Funny, fun, playful! When you and aunt Kelly came to visit we knew we were going to be doing something fun like disc golf (I swear you invented that game back in the 80's. I remember playing softball out in the fields next to our house in Brooks, the trip to Acadia, you and aunt Kelly coming over (or us coming to your house) playing cards with my parents... those were interesting to say the least. LOL So many wonderful memories that I treasure. I love you and miss you!

It was incredible to see how many people showed up for Dad's Celebration of Life today. To see such a full room left me speechless, seeing so many loved ones again and hearing all the touching stories you had to share was an absolute delight, even given the circumstances of our gathering. Thank you to everyone who attended today, it's made this difficult time in our lives a good memory to combat the sad ones. In the meantime Dad, I'll be writing to you to keep you updated on what your girls are up to, so keep an eye on your mailbox up there, okay? Sincerely, your youngest and always littlest girl - Emily May Manning

I met Lloyd when my Sister brought him home one day. I remember seeing his Chevy Nova and saying, “Nice car Floyd!” It was something he would tease me about over the years and we always had a laugh over it.
One Winter we were driving around by Stinson’s Canning. He might have been taking me and Kel to work… Suddenly, he spun into one of the warehouse parking lots and started doing donuts like crazy! Seatbelts were optional back then, so I went over to the other side of the car in the back seat. Lol. You just never knew what you were in for with Lloyd, but you could be sure it would be fun.
There are so many memories through the years. He was SUCH a great storyteller- he could bring you back to whatever memory he was talking about and you felt like you were there again.
I’ll always remember the Stephen King book reading we went to and the Aerosmith concert among the many adventures we had.
The only time I followed any sports team was because of him. And it was the year the Red Sox broke the curse. Man, it was something to see how excited and happy he was. Lloyd enjoyed the hell out of life.
I know it isn’t fair that his life wasn’t as long as it should have been, but he made so much of the time he had. Anyone would feel so lucky to have such a full, happy life.
Whenever anyone good leaves us, it feels like it was not enough time. But he gave us such an abundance of love and friendship that we just have to think of him and we will hear that infectious, legendary laugh.
I can see him rocking in the chair he bought Kelley to rock Carrie as a baby. He would make his way across the floor until he eventually would have to slide the chair back to where he started from. I know you all have little funny memories of things like this he left you and I hope it will always bring a smile to your faces and hearts. He would want that.
There is a quote that I think says it all about how he felt about my Sister.
“She said one thing and I said another and the next thing I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life in the middle of that conversation.” - by Hank Moody.
It was that simple and beautiful, they spoke, and the rest was set in stone. If they weren’t such wonderful people, you would be jealous, but you couldn’t be, you were just so happy for them.
All my Sister ever wanted was to find her soulmate and be a Mother. I am so grateful God saw she deserved to have just that. My heart is so heavy for the loss she, Carrie and Emmy feel, but I also have seen and felt the happiness he gave them. Enough to ease that loss some until they will be with him again.
I am so grateful to you Lloyd for being such an amazing Brother. I never thought of you as my in-law. You are my Brother, and I will always remember all you did for me when I was a rebellious, pain in the butt teenager. Thank you for making my Sister so happy and for giving me 2 Incredible Nieces that are like daughters to me. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there in person today, but I know you saw me celebrating your remarkable life. I will miss you Floyd. Lol! Had to get one more Floyd in. I can’t wait to hear your laugh again in person. Until then buddy, love, Morgan.
