Obituary of Elizabeth Anne Wilson

Elizabeth “Betty” Anne (Moloney) Wilson, 82, of Bayside passed away on October 6, 2017 in Belfast. She was born on March 28, 1935 in Bangor, the daughter of Donald and Irene (Fogg) Moloney. Betty attended the Orono school system all the way through her graduation from University of Maine class of 1957. She married her husband Carleton L. Wilson and after achieving her teaching degree they moved to Massachusetts. Betty taught school in the New Bedford district and there she started her family. In 1964 the Wilson’s moved to Rhode Island to follow her husband’s military career. There Betty worked in the school system but mostly enjoyed a retail career. Betty and Carleton loved to square dance together in their spare time until they retired to Bayside Maine in 1983. Betty’s family cottage became their retirement home after winterizing it to be a year round home. There she enjoyed walking with her dog Ben, and reading. Betty used her love of reading to benefit her community where she was the Bayside librarian, in which she took great pride in. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband in 1993, and brother James Moloney. Betty is survived by her loving daughters Lori Howard and husband William and Lisa Turner and husband Craig all of Rhode Island; beloved granddaughters Lesley and Ellen Howard; her sister in law and life-long friend Florence Wilson Cook; nephew Scott Cook and niece Karen O’Clair and special cat Lily. A memorial service will be held at 12 pm on Friday October 13, 2017 at the Belfast United Methodist Church 23 Mill Lane Belfast. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home Belfast, Me.
