Obituary of Steven Paul Clark

STOCKTON SPRINGS — Steven Paul Clark, 69, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 16, 2024. He was born on Aug. 5, 1955, to Frank Clark and Joan Mitchell. He was a graduate of Belfast Area High School’s class of 1974.

Steve married Cherrie Krienke on a beautiful summer day on July 17, 1999. He had been a resident of Stockton Springs for the past 27 years.

Steve was a 28-year employee of the Belfast Post Office, spending most of his career as a window clerk, where he loved greeting the hundreds of daily local visitors. He was able to enjoy an early retirement from the postal service at the age of 58, taking full advantage of his last 11 years of freedom.

Steve and his wife would take frequent hikes and road trips around Maine. Nothing made him happier than a routine dinner, a backyard fire and a glass of wine with her. Steve was a lifetime football fan and was always thrilled to fill his home with guests on Thanksgiving. He was very proud of his son and daughter in-law, relishing each visit he had with them.

Steve was totally content on any day the sun was shining. He felt very fortunate for the life he had been blessed with and was always excited to see what the next year, season or day would bring his way. He’ll be very missed.

Steve leaves behind his loving wife of 25 years, Cherrie Clark; and his son, Steve Clark II and daughter-in-law, Sheri Clark. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Blake; nephews, Zach and Andrew Blake; niece, Shalise Forti; and granddaughters, Jasmin and Emma Harvey.
