Obituary of Gary L. Masalin
Gary L. Masalin passed away at his home in Lincolnville on September 5, 2024, of natural causes at the age of 82.
He was born in Camden on August 29, 1942, the son of Olive L. and Ero Masalin. He attended schools in Camden and graduated from Camden High School in 1960. He played baseball and basketball in school, in which he excelled.
He graduated from SMVTI in 1962 in building construction. He worked for Murray Brothers Construction in So. Portland for many years until he moved to Lincolnville and became a blueberry farmer and also grew Christmas trees. He built himself a camp, a barn, and his own home in Lincolnville. He enjoyed his neighbors, the wildlife near his home, doing Sudoku, and he looked forward to the monthly meals with his high school classmates at a restaurant. He also enjoyed spending holidays with his sister's family, as well as weekly meals.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Charles Masalin. He is survived by his sister Susan Pendleton and her husband Sam Pendleton, his sister-in-law Cynthia Masalin of So. Carolina, nephews Steven, Peter and Jeffrey Masalin, niece Kari Cameron, and nephews Eric and Todd Pendleton, and their families.
A memorial service will be held at the Hope Community Bible Church in Hope at 2 pm on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024.
