Obituary of Vickie W. Otis

Vickie W. Otis entered the land of eternal sunrises on June 6th, 2024, surrounded by her husband Richard and sons Chad and Ryan.

A graduate of Belfast Area High School, Class of 1972. Vickie pursued higher education at Eastern Maine Vocational School, completing her clinical work at Thayer Hospital in Waterville.

Vickie and Richard were wed on February 21st, 1976. After marriage, the military took Vickie all over the world before settling in Waynesboro, PA in 1983 where she and Richard raised their family.

Vickie had a celebrated career working for the US Government in various capacities before retiring as CFO for MC4 in the fall of 2005.

Vickie was a lifelong volunteer and served the communities she resided in in many ways starting at an early age as a member of the Rainbow girls, a member of the Eastern Star, and the Waynesboro Lioness Club.

For almost 20 years Vickie has split her time in her happy places, the shores of Swan Lake in Swanville, ME, and the beaches of Myrtle Beach, SC, where many friendships developed with her snowbird family.

Vickie was predeceased by her parents Lewis and Charlotte Weaver, sister Mary Dutch, and her beloved pugs King Ralphie and King Lewie.

Surviving is her husband Richard, son Chad (Niki), son Ryan (Brooke), grandchildren Mia, Thatcher, Jedsen, and Archer, brother Michael (Ellie), brother-in-law Dr. Jeffery Dutch, Lifelong friend Shelly Gilpatrick, and numerous extended families.

All are invited to remember Vickie at a celebration of her Life on June 21st, 2024, from 4-7 pm at the Waldo County Shrine Club in Belfast, ME.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Vickie’s memory to The Waldo County Shrine Club Charitable Trust PO BOX 285, Belfast, ME 04915.

Our family wishes to extend our sincerest gratitude to those who allowed us the time we were able to share with her. The staff of the Grand Strand Medical Center, Waldo County General Hospital, and Maine Medical Center all played a crucial role in her health journey.
