Over the past two years I was one of Gari's caregivers, coming into her home twice a week staying overnight. We'd watch the news, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy each time. Gari often went to bed before Jeopardy, saying she never knew any answers, so why bother? We laughed when ads for Joe's Furniture came on; we would talk to Joe as if he were right there with us! She had great fashion style and always looked as if she was ready to go into work at State Sand. Gari was a fixture in my life weekly, and I enjoyed her wit, her stories about Dick and their life. And the slightly sarcastic comments on just about anything . I will miss her.

Deborah, Susan and family; I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. It's never easy to lose family member & especially a parent... not something we think about when we're younger. I want you to know how much I've appreciated your mother and her support of the community and Belfast Little League. I member some years ago, anytime we needed gravel or "crusher dust" for the Little League field, State Sand & Gravel was always there with a ready donation. It was done quietly, without fanfare, and a real testament to the sense of community that your mother & SSAG displayed and that I know is embodied in the rest of the family. Our best wishes to everyone. Mike & Brenda Towey

Dear Debbie, Sue, Ricky and David,
We are so deeply sorry for the loss of your Mother. Gari was an icon and she was so respected, not only by the thousands of customers at SS&G, but also, by our entire community. Your parents were wonderful business owners and gave back to our community in so many ways. Their greatest legacy is their children and entire family. Each of you have carried on the relationships your parents passed to you, with the greatest respect and commitment for honestly, integrity and pride. On behalf of a grateful community, we offer our sincere condolences. The legacy of Richard and Gari surely live on in your beautiful children and grandchildren. We know they proudly watch over you and are well received by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, where they shall dwell forever. May the Lord offer you Peace during this time of immense grief. Fran and Jack Riley
