Larry Littlefield

Obituary of Larry M. Littlefield

LARRY MARK LITTLEFIELD, 58, of Searsport passed away after a brief illness at Maine Medical Center in Portland on February 1, 2024. He was surrounded by family and friends. He was a twin, born on November 2, 1965 to Joyce Littlefield and Lawrence Stover.

Larry was raised in a neighborhood surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends. He graduated from Emmanual Christian School where he participated in sports and other school activities. His studies seemed to come easy to him, while his twin sister would say she had to study her behind off, and all he had to do was show up for class, pick up his pencil, and pass the test.

Larry graduated in 1984 and went on to work for Dakin's Miniatures, Tozier's, and finally settled in at Viking's Lumber for many years. While there he ended up in what he called “The Shack”. A job that suited him quite well. He always brought his dog, Bear with him and later earned his nickname LarBear. He greeted customers and checked out their purchases as they exited the lumber yard. Right up his alley because he was a talker. Always quick with a joke, a smile, and a great sense of humor. A boisterous laugh around the workplace and family gatherings. He enjoyed reading and collecting Loius L'Amour books, and any book about history that he could get his hands on. He also enjoyed hunting with his son and nephew. In recent years he had taken up cooking. Countless hours were spent cooking for friends and family. Recipes were tried and tweaked, and then shared all the while joking and telling tales. He also loved watching old movies and westerns. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, which he took much playful ridicule for. He was very strong-minded about family. He would visit with his mother every Sunday, but without fail, he still managed to call her every morning.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Laroy and Lila Littlefield of Belfast, his father Lawrence Stover of Searsport, and mother-in-law Lucy Seekins of Searsport.

Larry leaves behind his mother, Joyce Littlefield of Belfast; wife of 27 years, Janet Littlefield of Searsport; son Brandon Littlefield of Searsport; stepdaughter Danielle Seekins with Trinity and Kayden of Lewiston; stepson James Seekins with wife Grace and daughter Eliyanah of Searsport; brother Richard Littlefield with wife Lisa and family of Orland; twin sister Laurie Lee with husband Terry of Searsmont; sister Roberta Hooper and husband Joe of Belfast, nephew Michael Smith and girls of Bucksport who he held dear to him. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends galore. So many to count but all are dearly loved. It was told to Larry once that if he knew of someone or someone knew of him, then that meant a lot of people had the fortune of their hearts being touched by him. He will surely be missed but carried forward in the hearts of many.

The family wishes to thank MMC (CFT6 unit) for their unwavering care, and to those who reached out in time of need. And to Gary's House in Portland, where his twin sister was able to reside throughout Larry's stay at MMC.
