Obituary of Elsie B. Trask

Please share a memory of Elsie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Elsie "Ellie" (Bucklin) Trask, 84, of Hampden, Maine passed peacefully in her home with her family by her side on January 23, 2024.

Elsie was born in South Portland, Maine on November 4, 1939, to Fredrick & Laura (Baker) Bucklin. She grew up in Cape Elizabeth attending school there until moving to Rockland, Maine her senior year. She met and married her devoted husband of 65 years, Richard Trask.

Her love for the piano started at a very young age and so many were blessed to hear her play. Her love for the ocean, flowers, & feeding the birds were some of her joys.

She is loved and will be greatly missed.

Elsie loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and we find comfort in knowing she is in Heaven. She is probably playing the piano. Her family was her biggest joy. We were fortunate to all live close as a family so times together were a blessing.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Larry Bucklin.

Elsie is survived by her husband Richard, two daughters, Debbie and her husband Jody Costigan, and Diane and her husband Mark Kingsbury; two grandchildren Jasie Costigan and Nicholas (Nick) Kingsbury; a great-grandson, Asher Costigan; and one brother, Frederick Bucklin.

Heartfelt gratitude goes out to her caregivers for all their love, help, and time.

A celebration of her life will be held at Hermon Baptist Church in Hermon, Maine on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 11:00 am with Pastor Scott Taylor officiating.  Burial will be in the spring.

In lieu of flowers please consider a gift to the Hermon Baptist Church social committee.

Proverbs 31:31 Honor her for all that her hands have done and let her works bring her praise at the gates of Heaven.
