Obituary of Natalie H. Farrar
SEARSPORT
NATALIE HOPE FARRAR, 96, died January 12, 2024 at Bayview Manor in Searsport, ME. She was born in Damariscotta on September 9, 1927 to Abner and Tillie Stetson. Natalie graduated from Lincoln Academy in 1945. While working at a local pharmacy, she met her future husband, George B. Farrar, who had recently returned from WWII in Europe. They married in 1946 and moved to Waldo County where they bought a milk hauling business from George’s uncle and a chicken farm in 1968 while raising their six children. Natalie did the book keeping for and helped George run both businesses.
Natalie then studied and became a nurse’s aide at Bradbury Nursing Home and Waldo County General Hospital until she retired.
Natalie enjoyed going to fairs with her husband, George, and their horse‑pulling team.
She spent several retirement years at the Birches apartments in Belfast and her last 10 years at Bayview Manor in Searsport.
She was predeceased by her husband; son Bruce; Granddaughter Tracy Rowlands and Grandson Brian Farrar. Natalie is survived by daughters, Brenda Rowlands and husband Roger of Morrill, Carol Hawes and husband David of Hampden, Donna Ladd and husband Alfred of Stetson; her sons, Dale Farrar and wife Elly of Morrill and Robert Farrar and wife Teresa of Morrill; her grandchildren Dean Rowlands and wife Mindy, Shane Lucas and wife Nikki, Kelli Rowell and husband Eric, Lynn Roberts and husband Dana; Kale Ladd and wife Tara, Justin Ladd and wife Savannah, Joshua Farrar and wife Lindsy, Amanda Farrar as well as 18 great‑grandchildren.
