Obituary of Florence Nellie Gilmore

Florence Nellie Gilmore, 83, passed away January 4, 2024, in Rockport, Maine.  She was born March 9, 1940 in Newburgh, Maine, the daughter of Clarence and Marion Dunton.

After returning to Maine in 1977, she enjoyed being with family and friends.  She was a dietary aide at Waldo County General Hospital for 20 years before retiring in 2002.  Florence's hobbies included cooking, traveling, camping with friends and family and spending time with her grandchildren.

Florence was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Everett Gilmore who passed away in 2009; by her son Brian Gilmore who passed away in 2019 and by five of her siblings.  Surviving are her daughters, Brenda Gilmore and her husband Mark Engberg of Columbia, CT and Carol Gilmore of Newburg, ME; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; four brothers and one sister.

Florence's viewing will be held at Riposta Funeral Home on Wednesday January 10, 2024 from 11am to 12pm followed by her funeral service.  Friends and family are welcome to attend a reception following her services.  The reception will be held at her church's fellowship hall;  the Stockton Springs Community Church, 20 Church St., Stockton Springs.
