I never knew Pete as well as others did but I did get to share a smile here and there with him. He was such a bright light and always made me smile during conversation. Last year coming in as a freshman he was welcoming, so caring, and such a nice person to be around. He had this positive energy continuously around him that made me gravitate toward him along with everyone else. When he was at school at the beginning of this year, he was the same despite his challenges. His smile lit up a whole room and always made me smile. So I know he is looking down still smiling. I will miss seeing him around.

I wrote this the day Pete hit his ear really good on the corner of a table at preschool. Unstoppable energy. His birthday snack request was essentially a gummy charcuterie board. Putting that together with Linda annd Rebecca and watching him use wooden Montessori-style tongs to eat it still makes me smile.
