James Peter Walsh

James, late of Crumlin, Dublin is pre-deceased by both parents Joseph Walsh and Eileen Walsh nee Waddell. James is survived by his daughter Eileen of Sao Paulo Brazil and two grand daughters Lara and Luana. He is also survived by a large family of siblings: Terry Phyllis, Anne Paul Brian, Raymond, Brendan, Audrey, Colin Eileen and Lynda.
James spent his entire career in the hotel industry as a chef, beginning as a kitchen porter in Jervis Street Hospital, eventually rising to the role of executive chef in some of the worlds most prestigious hotels. In his profession he traveled and worked throughout the world and became fluent in five different languages.
Specializing in French cuisine, he worked with some of the worlds most prestigious chefs including Paul Bocuse in Lyon France, and cooked for many world leaders and celebrities in his career. Jim held positions in Paris, and Lyon, Cairo, Abidjan, Ivory Coast., Yugoslavia, Berlin, Rio Di Janeiro, Baja, Brazil Houston, Denver, Seattle, New York City, Palm Springs, Pittsburgh and finally in Oregon.
James was a talented photographer throughout his adult life chronicling his travels and extraordinary life through his photographs. He was also a keen equestrian, his love of horses and riding brought him great joy in the hectic and demanding life as a professional chef. James loved the North West settling in the town of Roseburg, Oregon where he remained a resident until his passing.
James will be interred with his parents in Newlands Cross Cemetery in Clondalkin, County Dublin
