Tom and I were US Fish & Wildlife Service workmates and friends for forty-four years. Together, over four years, we brought the White River Salmon Hatchery on line. We relied heavily on Young Adult Conservation Corps to accomplish our mission. Tom was great working with the youngsters. Several of them went on to become state hatchery managers. At Craig Brook Tom oversaw the complete hatchery rebuild while maintaining the on-hatchery fish stocks without loss. No easy trick. Tom also started a Friends Group for the hatchery which is still very active. Toms outreach program and joining with other conservation groups led to the establishment of the Great Pond Mountain Wildlands. He was always cheerful, optimistic and calm under pressure. Always that big smile. TK ole Buddy....YA DONE GOOD!

Dear Anita, Kyle , Rob and families, My heart is so sad. Tom was one of my best friends in the whole world. He was a wonderful, sweet, and loving man. He always made us laugh.!! We had so much fun raising the boys together, the sporting events, and all our outings(,kayaking etc ). Tom and I would talk and laugh, as Anita and BJ talked Nursing! Tom, you will forever be in our Hearts! We will see you again one day in a place where "there is no more sorrow, and no more tears" Love you Anita and love to the whole family. May God hold you all in the palm of His Hands and give you comfort and strength. Love, Deb

I knew Tom best as a curler, someone who was always fun to be on the ice with. Tom (and Anita) were tough competitors and a challenge to keep up with. You better be on your game against them. Off the ice they were as gracious and friendly as could be.

I always enjoyed seeing Tom and Anita when they visited Indiana to see family. I admired Tom's upbeat, positive and spirited nature. He was someone I enjoyed listening to. We usually had a conversation about how Purdue was doing in sports since we were both Boilermakers. He will be greatly missed and our thoughts are prayers are with Anita and the family.

We first met Tom around 1971 when Anita, our cousin, introduced him to us. We were thrilled when they asked our children to be in their wedding. Always liking sports, on their honeymoon they went skiing in Michigan. Tom took us on some tours when we visited, the Craig Brook Fish Hatchery and also Acadia National Park. We were impressed with his knowledge and loved that sparkle in his eyes. Our love and hearts go out to Anita and their family. He will be missed.

We will always remember Tom for his adventuresome spirit in traveling down the Maine backroads on our little sojourns together. Our times together were always special and fun. You two were great together and wonderful free-spirited companions, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We have great memories and will hold Tom in our hearts forever. Love, Ron and Elaine

We have a few of these first day of school photos of the girls and Tom at the hatchery. Tom was a great supervisor and co-worker for Chris and I, and the girls adored him. When Lizzie was little and someone mentioned Tom she would say "Which Tom? Tom I love?" Our last memory of Tom is him showing up at our hatchery house the day we were moving out, and pitching in to help. Tom was always smiling :)

Christine and I were very fortunate to have the pleasure to become a part of the curling community in Belfast along with our friend Tom. His youthful spirit was something that we will always admire and treasure. Sweep haard Tommy in your next adventure.

My name is Cheryl Morin, and I know Tom from the salmon raising project he organized at my school in Appleton. It was such an exciting project for my 3rd graders, and he did such a great job answering their questions. I enjoyed working with him. I also know him from the Belfast Curling Club, and he was always so friendly and pleasant. Many condolences for your loss.

What a great friend. Not only was he supportive to us in the BBWC, but he got my husband and I into Pickleball. That one act really added to our lives and all the new great friends that came with it.
Tom was a wonderful inspiration. He was our own Energizer Bunny. He just kept on going and it inspired the rest of us to stop complaining and "keep on going".
Tom has left a huge whole in the Belfast community and will be greatly missed by all.

We first met Tom and Anita when the Post Office starting sending our mail to them. It was the start of a beautiful friendhship. Whether it was taking our boys to hockey games, playing raquetball or joining with Tom for friendly football games, Tom added a lot of spice to our lives. He was just so much fun to be around.
We moved away from Randolph in the 80s and so did they. But our friendship continued and we treasured our get-togethers. We celebrated our kids weddings together and the great experience of grandchildren. His example kept me vegetable gardening long after my back protested. If he could do it, so could I.
He was one of the most positive people that I have ever known. Through good times and bad, he pushed through and came out on top. He leaves a true legacy of love, two beautiful sons, and a loving wife. We will miss him very much.
We love you, Tommy.

Tom and I were roommates freshman year at Purdue after his original roommate drove him out with his antics. Junior year we shared an apartment. We had the most wonderful time in that apartment. Along with David the three of us ended up marrying our occasional visitors. At one point Tom and I owned a 1959 Chevy wagon. He left it on the side of the road between Southbend, Indiana and school. Just parked it and walked away.
Last year I visited Tom and Anita. I’m so glad I got to see him. His enthusiasm for curling and life, his positive attitude, and being an around nice guy had not diminished in the 50+ years I new him.
I will miss him immensely.
