Obituary of John Michael Jarrett

John Michael Jarrett, age 70, of Boothbay Harbor, passed away peacefully on August 16^th, 2023. Known by friends as Michael or Mike, he was born on April 13^th, 1953, to parents John and Anne (Hicks) Jarrett in Shelby, North Carolina.

Michael grew up in North Carolina and moved to the Northeast in his twenties after falling in love with the Boothbay area. He grew to be a talented mason by trade and an avid fisherman, fishing for Tuna and diving for scallops off the coast of Boothbay Harbor for many years. Mike was charismatic and always captured the attention of the people around him, whether it was with his stories, his familiar laughter, or even the occasional magic trick. He left a lasting impression on the people around him and will be missed by many.

Michael is survived by his daughter Audrey Jarrett and fiancé Conor Alexander, and his grandson Magnus Alexander, of Appleton, ME; brother Bruce Jarrett of Clemson, SC; half-brother Blair Beam of Calabash, NC; half-sister Diane Muhundro of Huntersville, NC; half-sister Martha Summers of Cornelius, NC; and stepbrothers Kyle Beam of Charlotte, NC; Mark Beam of Cherryville, NC; and stepsister Robin Cox of Cherryville, NC.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Saturday September 30, 2023 at Mine Oyster Restaurant from 1- 4 pm in Boothbay Harbor.
