Obituary of Ann J. Anthony

Ann Jolene Anthony June 10, 1942 -April 14,2023

 

Ann Jolene Anthony, 80 of Vinalhaven, ME, passed away on April 14, 2023 at 1O:00pm, at Harbor Hill Nursing Home in Belfast, ME after a long illness.

Ann was predeceased by her husband Dallas Levi Anthony.

 

Ann is survived by her brothers: Peter and Alan Merritt. Sister: Cindra McCormick. Children:Thomas Anthony, Amy Anthony-Newbert, Ellen Anthony, and David Anthony.

Grandchildren: Avery, Ethan, Riley and Audrey Anthony. Rhys and Karanda Newbert. Anthony Merrill and Ashlee Murray. Brittany and Blake Anthony. Great grandchildren: Vera and Levi Murray. Levi and Hallie Saroka.

 

Ann met Dallas Anthony upon returning home to Bucksport, ME, from Maryland, where she worked on a horse farm of a family friend. She fell in love at first sight, and she and Dallas were married April 27, 1963. The first few years of their marriage was spent living in Bucksport and Vinalhaven; as Dallas worked away from home and Ann raised their growing family.

Eventually they settled in Bucksport and were buying a home, until the death of Dallas' father in 1975, prompted them to move their family to Vinalhaven. Where they lived out the remainder of their lives together.

 

Ann loved kids, animals, flowers, her family, and country music. She was a lifelong crafter. She always had a project in the making. She knit,crocheted,embroidered,sewed,drew,and painted to name a few. She became a certified ceramic teacher and taught lessons for awhile. She was always willing to share her crafting knowledge and help others with their crafting hurdles.

She dedicated her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and family she loved so much. She will be greatly missed!

 

As per Ann's wishes no funeral or memorial service will be held.  We invite you to make donations to The Ivan Calderwood Homestead, elder care, 18 Beaver Dam Rd, Vinalhaven ME, 04863.  Memories and condolences may be shared on her tribute wall.
