Obituary of Robert Lawrence Erickson
Robert (Bob) Lawrence Erickson, 84, of Thorndike, Maine, passed away 4/9/2023 after an extended battle with dementia.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts to Eric and Eola Erickson on 12/21/1938, he graduated from Hyde Park High School in 1956 to eventually earn a bachelor's degree in business from North Eastern. Proudly serving in the US Army at the start of his work life, Bob primarily found himself in sales.
Meeting the love of his life Pat in 1976, they would initially settle in Westwood, MA. Their passion for the Maine way of life was solidified by purchasing multiple camps on Weber Pond in Vassalboro, Maine where they spent many weekends enjoying time with family, eventually leading to a permanent residence in Thorndike where he raised his two sons.
Keeping busy after his retirement from FW Webb in 2001, Bob always a self-made handyman, found himself constantly engaged in home improvement projects both for himself and others. His craftmanship is evident as you walk into the home, as well as, the intricacies in his birdhouses, horse shoe pits and other creative endeavors. Taking great joy in spending time with family, he took the opportunity to ensure all his kids and grandkids (except Donna) learned to play cribbage (aka scrimmage according to Donna) and horse shoes. Bob and Pat had a mutual love for Nascar as many a Sunday was spent watching racing and rooting for Earnhardt, which led his sons to take him to a Nascar race in his later years. Also on Sundays Bob and the whole family would be cheering on Tom Brady and the Pats. Some of his side hobbies include: golf, talking politics and single handedly getting Trump elected president and overall being the life of the party.
Bob is predeceased by his brothers Roy, Eric and Sister Joan. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Erickson, son, Rusty Erickson and Donna Morse, son, Sean Macomber and Marcy Macomber, grandchildren: Alexis Morse, Courtney Morse, Hailee Macomber, Cade Macomber and Ethan Macomber.
To sum up Bobs legacy in words,
"i did it my way"
