Obituary of William S. Blaisdell
William (Bill) Spencer Blaisdell, 92, of Montville, Me., passed away on November 1, 2022 at the Waldo County Hospital Hospice, Belfast, Maine. Bill was born in Palermo on May 1, 1930 to William A. and Anita Blaisdell. He attended Palermo schools, and served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was very proud of his service to his country. Bill was employed by Lee Bros., Albion, for 50 plus years.
He enjoyed car races, ball games, family picnics, dining out, and attending local dances. Bill enjoyed his daily visits for years to the Freedom General Store where he would meet friends; it was truly a highlight of his day. The family wishes to thank Paul and Kate Flynn and the good friends he made there.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, brother, Kenneth Blaisdell, sisters, Louise Blaisdell, and Mary Mosher. His wife, Grace Ward Blaisdell, who passed in 2004, stepson Boyd A. Ward, and step grandson, Raymond O. Ward.
He is survived by long time companion, Lenora Martin. Sister, Nancy Murphy and family. Stepdaughter Brenda Moody, husband, Carl and family, Daughter-in-law, Sandra Ward and family, Brother-in-law, Scott Mosher and family. Grandchildren, Kathi, Allison, Christy, and Sarah. Great grandchildren, Lauren, Emily, Adam, Damon, Jennifer, Samantha, Corey, Trenidy, Meredith, and Miranda. Great great grandchildren Violet and Matthew. Friends, Ellen, Mark, and Kayleb Freeman.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Waldo County Hospital Hospice Unit, Belfast, Maine for the caring and compassion shown to Bill.
Graveside services will be held on November 12 at 1 pm at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Freedom, Maine. Relatives and friends are invited to the Freedom Congregational Church after the service to honor Bill. The family has asked donations be made to Waldo County Hospice Unit, 118 Northport Avenue, Belfast, Maine in William Blaisdell's name.
