Obituary of Roderick Allen Hall

Roderick Allen Hall “Red” 85, passed away on January 30th, 2022, during a blizzard, in true Red Hall fashion. He was born on March 11th, 1936, to Thelma and Galen Hall in Brooks, Maine. Red worked for the City of Belfast Public Works as a plow truck driver for over 30 years where he met some of his best friends. He had many memorable experiences during his time at the City of Belfast including one cold night spent in Belfast Bay holding onto the tire of his truck while coworkers unknowingly dumped their loads of snow on top of him. He was an avid horseman and made many appearances at local parades and shows with his horse Starfire. In our lifetime we are lucky to find one lifelong love, but Red was lucky enough to find two. He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years Margret Travis Hall and is survived by his wife Judith Higgins Hall with whom he enjoyed going to watch horse pulling at the fairs, sewing, cooking, and spending time together. He was predeceased by his parents and sons Walter Hall and Terry Reynolds. Red is survived by mother-in-law Maude Higgins; special sister-in-law Julie Belcher and special friend Sewell Colby; his children Allison Works and husband Kenneth, Michael Hall, Trudy Munson and husband Mark, Karen Lanphier and husband Tim, Meredith Hall, Rod Hall and wife Charity, Jennifer Dumont and husband David, Kimberly Stawasz and husband Albert, Daniel Reynolds and wife Marie, JJ Belcher and husband Stacy; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he adored. A time of visiting hours will be held from 1 to 2 pm at Riposta Funeral Home 182 Waldo Ave. Belfast on Thursday, February 3, 2022, immediately followed by a memorial service at 2 pm. Interment will be privately held in the spring. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.ripostafh.com
