Obituary of Carol B. Carr

Carol Barbara Carr (Kraus) of Monroe, Maine, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, after a lengthy illness. She was 79. Carol was born in Manhattan, New York, on June 17, 1942 to parents: Edward Kraus Sr. and Doris (Smith). Carol was married to James Carr Sr. for 46 years. They moved from Maine to California in 1977, and upon retirement, returned to Maine in 2006. Carol loved adventure. Whether it was camping under the stars in Death Valley, ocean fishing off San Francisco Bay or canoeing in the Everglades amongst alligators, she was fearless. Carol was also an avid gardener often growing more than she could give away. Working outside, tending her gardens, brought joy throughout her life. Though Carol had a lengthy illness, she loved life, and is gone, far too soon. Carol is survived by her husband, James Carr Sr., sister, JoAnn Gold of Massachusetts, son, James Carr Jr., and daughters: Lisa Jones, Laura Hislop and Robin Cross, all residing in California. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carol had requested no services to be held. Memories and condolences may be shared at ripsotafh.com.
