Jay and I spent the summer of 1955 with our parents at the Bun-Allen Acres bungalow colony in the Catskills. Diane was still practically in swaddling cloth.
One day, a man who had a travelling kiddie ride drove his truck with the ride behind it to the Bungalow colony. Jay and I saw the ride, ran down to it, and tried to get on it. But the ride cost 5 cents and, being 3 and 4 yrs old, we had no money. The man kept putting his hands in our pockets, but he wasn’t being creepy. He was just checking if we had any money in our pockets. Fortunately, his mom, Selma, came running down hill with her purse and gave the man 2 nickels to pay for our rides.
In July, 1957, our families moved to Hillcrest/Spring Valley. Jay’s family bought 14 Trinity Ave. My family moved into 12 Trinity.
