Obituary of Vincent A. Coose

Vincent “Vinny” A. Coose, 54 of Prospect passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 14, 2021. He was born on April 21, 1967, the son of Eldred and Linda (Kelmel) Coose. Vinny loved spending time with his family and friends. They meant the world to him. He enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, yard sales, and Caribbean cruises. A skilled meat cutter, he was employed by Hannaford for more than 30 years. When not at Hannaford, “Vin Man” enjoyed working with his friend Todd on Todd’s lobster boat. Vinny was also a Mason and a Shriner. Always willing to help people in need, Vinny relished the brotherhood and humanitarian mission the Mason’s represented. “Vin Man” was loved and cherished by many. He will live on in their stories and fond memories. This man loved life and lived life to the fullest. His sense of humor and giving nature will be sorely missed. We love you Vinny Coose and you will always be in our hearts! He is survived by his loving wife Teresa and son Daniel, his sister Patricia Clement, his father-in-law, who meant a lot to Vinny, Stanley Drinkwater and his wife Barbara, brother-in-law Danny Drinkwater and wife Linda, sister-in-law Gail Dudley and her husband, Mike and sister-in-law Wendy Grover and her husband, Andy and many loving nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at Riposta Funeral Home 182 Waldo Ave. Belfast, Me. at 2 pm on Saturday, September 25, 2021. Masks are required. Donations may be made in Vinny's honor to the Shriners Children’s Hospital. I read a poem the other day that said it is what is between the dashes that means the most. 1967-2021. Vinny loved life and fought until he could fight no more. This man of mine was one of a kind. He loved people and they loved him. Everywhere we went people knew him or he had made a good friend by the time we left. He told my son: friends get you through life and are there to offer help when you need it. Don’t be afraid to take that help because one day you can pay it forward. Vinny loved the outdoors. He enjoyed being on the water either hauling lobster traps with Todd or just out fishing with a friend or Daniel and I. For many years deer hunting season was a crazy time at our house from me coming home and the dooryard being filled from all the hunters coming to just yak or dropping off a deer or moose. Vinny was always working so hard to support his family. He loved antique browsing or going to yard sales with me. He enjoyed finding the ultimate deal. If he couldn’t go, because he worked many weekends, he would say what ya buy me today? Once in a while, I would find something cool but often not he was out of luck. He was the funniest man. He always made people laugh. “VinMan” was cool and fun to be around. One of Vinny’s last words to me was Don’t worry baby it is going to be okay. I love you. I hear this over and over in my head. It gets me through the day. I know he will always surround Daniel and I with his love. His main concern was making sure we were going to be ok. We will probably never be ok again, but we will go out and live life to the fullest because that is what he would want for us. WE LOVE YOU VINNY COOSE! Arrangements were made by Riposta Funeral Home.
