Elden E. York; Daytona Beach, FL; Elden E. York 74, formally of Belfast, died unexpectedly on July 15th, 2021. He was born June 17th, 1947 in Belfast, to Burton and Maxine York, the oldest of seven children. He graduated from Crosby High, class of 1965, attained eagle scout in troop 37, and went on to attend Norwich University Corps of Cadets for electrical engineering. Then he went on to Worcester Polytechnic institute gaining a degree in Nuclear Electrical engineering and later studied in neuroscience and physics at Syracuse University. As an engineer he was employed by large power procedures and eventually formed his own consulting firm where he worked until retirement. Eventually he relocated from Syracuse, NY to Daytona Beach, FL and pursued his many and varied business interests. In addition to his parents, Elden was predeceased by his sister Elaine E York, and brother Eric L. York of Belfast. He is survived by his daughter Sara B. York of Tallahassee, FL brothers Winston H. York of Searsport, Gary J York of Waldo, Michael A. York of Orrington, Walter R. York of Belfast and many nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Riposta Funeral Home in Belfast, on Saturday August 21st, at 2 o’clock and interment will immediately follow at Grove Cemetery.
