Obituary of Rodney G. Littlefield Sr.

Rodney G. Littlefield Sr, 74, of Belfast passed away on August 12, 2021, at his home. He was born on May 16, 1947, in Belfast Me. the son of Lila G. (Grant) Littlefield and LaRoy S. Littlefield. Rodney married Betty I. Gray on May 30, 1970, and they started their family. He is survived by his children and their spouses Rodney G. Littlefield Jr. and partner Kendra Ware of Belmont, Nicole L (Littlefield) Hesse husband Darren of Belfast, Anthony Littlefield and partner Melissa Cilley of Baileyville and Laurie Lee and husband Terry; grandchildren Tayler and Bentlee Hesse, Mason Smith, Brooklin Lancaster, and great-granddaughter Kailyn Lancaster; his siblings Joyce Littlefield of Orland, Edwin Littlefield of Belmont, Errol Littlefield of Belmont, Sharon Ladd and spouse Ernie of Searsmont, Faye Roy and spouse Francis of Belfast, William "Bill" Littlefield Sr. and spouse Heidi of Belfast, Andrew Littlefield and partner Alice Mariner of Belfast; as well as several nieces and nephews. He dropped out of school in the 9th grade and went back later in life and received his GED. Rodney worked at Maplewood from 1970 to 1975, Searsport dock from 1975 to 1978, and Penobscot poultry from 1978 to 1980 where he got hurt loading trash and was crushed from the waist down. In his spare time, he loved to work on his Street Rod 1939 Dodge Business coupe. A memorial gathering will be held at Riposta Funeral Home 182 Waldo Ave. Belfast on August 27, 2021, from 4 to 6 pm, graveside service will follow on August 28, 2021, at 1 pm at Hillside Cemetery in Belmont.
