We were so sad to hear of Goldy's passing. He was always so full of life and joy. We will always remember his wonderful, ever-present smile. Though we have lost touch in recent years, Goldy and Cheryl have been in our thoughts. We will miss him a great deal.

I have so many great memories of Goldy, starting way back in the early 70's - on Willow Street in Florence MA - when my musical 'career' was just beginning. Goldy always loved music and was so supportive through the years - with Sandy Russell; Jim O'Connor; the Tom Willits Band (what a night we had at the Maria Muldaur show in CT!!); Jonathan Edwards, and on and on. Goldy was the best of friends, and a generous and wonderful host. He would always offer Jim and I a place to stay - and feed us the latest veggie concoction he was into - whenever we did our Maine tours. I'm so glad that Martha and I were able to spend some time with him and Cheryl, Lea and Noah for his 70th birthday party! I loved Goldy and will miss him dearly. Rest in peace old friend - Jon Lees

Goldy was a great friend of Special Olympics Maine and a fixture at our State Summer & Winter Games for more than 40 years. We were all so very sorry to learn of his passing. He was a friend to our athletes, coaches and fellow volunteers, EVERYONE knew him and loved him. Not only a dedicated soul to our cause, but a member of our SO Maine family. He was always so happy be with us and we were always so happy to have him there. We could always count on Goldy (and we did for many things). When he was not at one of these events with us, he was representing us at a school setting, because that was the kind of volunteer he was. He believed in our cause. It was especially nice when he would come to an event with his wonderful family. As it has already been said, he will be missed by many. And our events he has been part of for so many years, will never be the same.....Phil & staff at Special Olympics Maine.

Very sad. Goldy was a true mensch, a decent fellow, kind and gentle. A part of the community for so many decades, will be difficult to imagine visits to Belfast, especially the coop, and other local events and not run into him. Love and condolences to family

We are so sorry to hear of Goldy’s passing. The years our families’ lives were intertwined were some of the happiest of our lives. We shared so much food, drink, laughter, and love! There are so many special memories of Goldy, and we are sorry we are unable to join you for the celebration of his life today to share some of them. He was a kind, caring, nurturing human being and we are blessed to have shared part of our life’s journey with him and your family. Sending many hugs and much love - you are all in our thoughts and we wish we could be together to grieve with you... Stacy, John, Tyler and Sarah

I mostly knew Goldy from the Coop, where I could count on his advice on various items on the shelves, most recently the delicious breads he found for us. And the Annual Meetings used to have extraordinarily delicious soups and food because he was in charge of the "catering". The Coop, and the world, will not be the same without his presence.

Goldy is remembered by many, and will be missed by all.
Belfast and the wider Waldo County community is the richer for the wonderful Co-op he helped found, and nurtured for numerous years.

Goldy was an amazing listener, he always gave time to here you and help if he could. We always had the best of times while decorating the Shrine Hall for our work Christmas Parties. He would be cooking all day long in the kitchen while Jenn and I would be decorating the hall. He would have Jenn and I peeling so many potatoes that I never wanted to see another potatoe for the rest of my life. But we enjoys these moments. He was a true friend through good times and bad times. I will charish all my 16 years of memories that I had knowing him. He will always hold a place in my heart. God has a great man in his presence now. I pray I'll see him again some day.
