Obituary of Betty G. Hustus
Betty G. Hustus (Farnham), 91 of Belfast, Maine went peacefully home with the Lord May 12, 2020.
She was born Betty Gaye Farnham on October 29th 1928, in Rockland, Maine, to parents Herbert Dudley Farnham and Hilda Rae (Dyer) Farnham. Growing up, she had a love of animals, music and acting in theatre. She became an accomplished musician, playing both piano and guitar. Betty loved to sing, worked as an entertainer in radio, and had the privilege of performing with the Sons of the Pioneers. They nicknamed her “Rusty Parts” because of her flaming red hair.
Betty married Henry Edmund Hustus in Belfast, Maine on May 13th, 1958.
In later years, she lived in Tombstone, Arizona, and was referred to as “Mom” by all the re-enactors and locals.
She loved the Lord, sunsets and music but most of all she loved her family.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her son, Henry “Hank” Hustus II; daughter-in-law, Karen Hustus (Schmalek); grandson, Henry Edmund Hustus III; grand-daughters, Barbara Gonzales (Johnson), Theresa Johnson, Linda Leahy (Johnson) and Eva Tack (Dziengel); 10 great grandchildren, 3 nieces, 1 nephew and her best friend, confidant and lifelong companion, Alice Robbins.
No services were held. In lieu of flowers, donations to the ASPCA would be appreciated. aspca.org
