In profound grief over the loss of Howard, a truly exceptional being blessed with attributes that were boundless. His warm sense of humor always lightened our spirits and his rich wisdom was an inspiration to all. With unmatchable intelligence and generosity, he would assist with my tax matters while in Maine. A cherishing soul whose company will be deeply missed. Heaven welcomes an angel who truly personifies kindness, humour and thoughtfulness. Beneath these tears are cherished memories that forever echo his laughter and resonate his wit.

Tammy, Natasha and family,
As a former softball teammate of Howie with Shaw's or fellow Basketball official or player who disagreed with Howie's calls as a softball umpire or Coach of Augusta Legion baseball team that would get funding from Post 205 treasurer, I always admired Howie and respected all that he gave back to the community. He will be sadly missed!

Dear Tammy, Natasha, Mindy & families,
Our condolences to you on the loss of Howie Annis. He was a great friend, athlete, coach and referee/umpire. He will be
greatly missed. He was always there to lend a helping hand, coach or give advice when needed. He had a great sense of
humor and a huge knowledge of sports. He made a great contribution to the community through coaching and umpiring. He was always fun to talk to and was a great help at the Rec Department. He even named his girls softball team The Capital Maineacs, a name that has been adopted by many youth teams at CAYSA. Sincerely, Pete & Roxanne Marczak

Howie was faithful in attending our monthly alumni gatherings even when he was not feeling his best. We will miss his presence and pray that he now is at Peace. He fought the good fight and we were so very proud of him and of you, Tammy. You were his rock and he shared that with us. Love and blessings, Lorna Chase Ulmer

The members of Dewey's softball and basketball teams wish to express their condolences to Howie's family. We
considered ourselves fortunate whenever he was assigned to ump or referee a ballgame due to his competence, fairness and no nonsense attitude. Howie was also a good competitor and served as a shining light to encourage elder members of our teams to continue on in our chosen sports. May he rest in peace, Jim Smith for Dewey's

Mr. Annis was a highly respected official and umpire who did some of the games I played in during the early 1980's. I remember him as always being fair and doing a great job. Thank you for your service to our country and for your service to the young athletes in our community. He will be remembered fondly by all who met him. God Bless. Steve Howe

We both remember Howard as he sat in the adult Sunday School of Augusta Baptist Church. He asked many questions and kept things lively! We learned a lot because of Howard. Additionally, Howard and Tammy taught kindness and generosity to the extreme, leading by example. A life well lived Howard! Blessings to his family, Matt & Judy Washuk
