Obituary of Georgia Jean Southcotte
Georgia Jean Southcotte, 87, of Belfast, passed away May 3, 2009. She was born June 30, 1921 in Colorado Springs Colorado, the daughter of John I. and Selma Mae (Parker) Southcotte. Georgia had a highly acclaimed career on the Broadway stage, in films and on television. She toured nationally and in Europe with Lauren Bacall and Lilli Palmer among others. She moved to Belfast in 2005 to join her daughter and son in law. She loved the Belfast community and found a wonderful church family at the Unitarian Universalist Church. Georgia is predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her daughter Leslie Umans and husband Frederick Eickelberg of Belfast and Brooks and sister Pauline Plunder of Woodside, California. Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 37 Miller Street, Belfast, Maine.
