Obituary of Laura Freitas Moinheiro Vieira
Laura Freitas Moinheiro Vieira, 82, of Northfield Maine, formerly of Fairhaven Massachusetts, died May 24, 2009. She was born March 18, 1927, Daughter of the late Maria Vieira Moinheiro and the late Abel Freitas Moinheiro. She graduated from New Bedford High School in June 1945 and Kinyon Campbell Business School. She worked at Camp Edwards, Continental Screw Company, and retired after 37 years at Acushnet Company; golf ball division in the office. She was former band Co-President for New Bedford High School band and boosters. Her fondest memories were dancing with her Husband at the Lincoln Park Ball Room, and many years of boating. She was a member of Pope's Island Marina, A-Dock, and former Goodyear Retirement Group. She is survived by her loving Husband of 58 and a half years and caregiver since her stroke in 2002, Frederico Vieira; Sister Abel F. Moinheiro, of Fairhaven, Massachusetts and the late Manuel F. Moinheiro of Dartmouth Massachusetts; Sister in law to the late Mary Amaral and the late Michelina Andrade; also Sister in law to Ramona Moinheiro, Patricia Moinheiro, and Antone Andrade. She leaves behind two daughters, Nancy and Husband Daniel Cardoza of Northfield Maine, formerly of Fairhaven Massachusetts; Lorene and Husband Donald Simoneau of Bedford Massachusetts; four Grandaughters, Nancy-Sue Buchanan, Marlena Laura Simoneau, Michaela Rachel Simoneau, Julia Diane Simoneau, and one Great Grandson, Shelby Joseph Gonsalves; several Nieces and one Nephew and many dear friends. There will be no visiting hours or funeral service at Laura's request. Remember me as I was.
