Obituary of Jared William Enos
BELMONT (Aug 18): Jared William Enos, 23, was taken from his loving family suddenly Aug. 14, 2009, while engaged in one of his favorite pastimes, riding his beloved dirt bike.
He was born April 6, 1986, in Oak Bluffs, Mass., at the Martha's Vineyard Hospital. Jared spent the first 15 years of his life in West Tisbury, Mass., with his loving parents, Bill and Cindy, and his younger brother, Matt.
From a very early age, he showed great promise in building, designing and fabricating machinery. He also was very artistic, and as he grew he developed an interest in engine repair and motor works.
The Enos family moved to Belmont in June 2001, where Jared acquired many lifelong friends who became part of his extended family. He graduated from Belfast Area High School in 2004 and went to Central Maine Community College, where he studied automotive mechanics. Jared then returned to his first home, the island of Martha's Vineyard, where he was employed by his dear friends the Belain family, who operated Mid Island Repair.
Jared was currently residing in Belmont with his loving family, where he was employed by Dirigo Glass.
To his numerous friends and family members he was "Jay Rod," a wise, wild, outrageous and beautiful young man with an infectious energy and zest for life. He lived every day like it was his last and always tried to carry on the message "life is precious; have fun."
Jared is survived by his parents, Bill and Cindy Enos, of Belmont; a brother, Matthew R. Enos, of Belmont; his maternal grandparents, Richard and Cynthia Glass, of Waldo; his paternal grandmother, Catherine Griffin, of Falmouth, Mass.; his aunts and uncles, Melinda and Bruce Pomelow of Bucksport, Cindy and Andre Bonnell and Robert and Donna Enos, all of Edgartown, Mass.; his loving cousins Elyce and Eli of Edgartown, Mass., Caleb and Lucy Enos and Amanda Termini, all of Edgartown, Mass., and Marianne Bouchard of Bangor; and many beloved friends, most of whom reside in Maine and Massachusetts.
Jared was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, William C. Enos.
A celebration of Jared's life will be held Saturday, Aug. 22, at 1 p.m. at his home, 146 Lincolnville Road, Belmont, followed by a potluck lunch. Those attending are invited to bring a dish and share fellowship with his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations at the above address to help defray the unexpected medical costs.
Arrangements are with Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast. Online condolences for the family may be left at crabielripostafuneralhome.com.
