Obituary of Donald E. Arey

Lincolnville – Donald E. Arey, 78, died suddenly but peacefully while wintering in Port Richey, FL on December 10, 2009. Don was born in Winterport on April 12, 1931. He moved to Colorado where he raised his family and lived for many years before returning home to Maine. Don loved spending his Sunday afternoons watching football or NASCAR. He also loved a good debate with family and friends and taking his dog Chelsea for rides in the car. Donald was predeceased by his parents Everett and Doris Arey of Winterport. He is survived by his sister Marion Lary and husband Dick of Warwick, RI along with their children Kevin, Michael and Suzanne; his daughters Beverly Doherty along with her husband Rick of Camden and Beverly’s son Denis of Seattle, WA, Cathy Arey along with her husband Tom Wilson of Boothbay Harbor and their son Morgen; and Don’s partner of many years Deborah Davis of Lincolnville and her family of whom he was very fond. There will be a small memorial with family and close friends in the Spring. Memorial donations may be made to the fund or charity of one’s choice.
