Obituary of John Caswell

Belfast: John “Butch” Caswell, 68, died 1/17/10 following a progressive battle with Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA). He was born in Belfast February 26, 1941 the son of Dr. John A. & Elizabeth (Graham) Caswell Sr. Butch was a graduate of Hebron Academy, UMO with a degree in history and the Belfast Bible Institute where he also taught for a few years. While Butch was always active in both Skylight Wood Studio and Skylight Software locally, his passion was serving the Lord. He enjoyed working with youth in many area churches and serving as a missionary in CEF Neighborhood House Chapter. Another love was photography, from his teen years right through the end of his life. His goal was always to show God’s creation in his pictures. Survivors include his wife of 30 years Karen (Talbot) Caswell of Belfast; two daughters: Karen Sapia of PA; and Kimberly Snyder of NY; a step-son Kevin Scott of Belfast; two brothers and two sisters: George Caswell of LA; Beth Conant of Boothbay; Edward Caswell of Topsham; Prudy Caswell-Reno of OR; six grandchildren; seven nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast on Thursday 1/21/10 from 6-8 p.m. where memorial services will be held Friday, January 22 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Storm Gould officiating.
