Obituary of Jayne F. Smith

Jayne F. Smith (Rixstine), Born December 28, 1921 in Bethlehem, Pa. On September 10, 1941, she married Eric G. Smith, deceased in 2000. She was a permanent resident of Bailey Island since 1965. Survived by her twin children, son - Eric G. Smith, Jr., his wife Laurie and their three children; Brooke, Megan and Mason of Bailey Island: and her daughter Carol J. Smith of New Jersey, as well as several nieces and a nephew. Jayne was a member of the Islands Community Church on Bailey Island. She enjoyed bowling for years and served as secretary for the Greater Brunswick Woman’s Bowling, Ass., Director of the State Bowling Ass. and was an inductee to the Bowling Hall of Fame. In the 1950’s while living in Mass., she was a member of the Shrewsbury Player’s guild and secretary of the Ray Stone Post Auxiliary. She was employed from 1970-1990 as a medical transcriptionist in the Pathology Department at the Bath Memorial Hospital. Jayne enjoyed music, sewing, skiing, golf, camping and most of all – time spent with family and her grandchildren. There will be a private family farewell.
