Obituary of Virginia Mary Hatch
VIRGINIA MARY (WRIGHT) HATCH, born December 14th, 1931 in Natick, MA, was the wife of George Edward Hatch and daughter of Leonard S. and Anna (Putnam) Wright. Virginia passed away at the age of 81 on May 31, 2013.
She leaves two children Jeffrey G. Hatch and Catherine D. Bame and also helped to raise one nephew, Lorne C. Thayer. She leaves her two children, Jeff and Cathy; and five grandchildren, George Allen Hatch, Jonathan Jeffrey Hatch, Carolyn Victoria Hatch, Michael Putnam Bame and Lauren Jean Bame, also two great grandchildren, Madison Laura Hatch and Lyla Kristin Hatch.
Virginia was a wife, mother, secretary/stenographer and artist. She enjoyed gardening and being outdoors, kayaking, picnics, walks in the woods and camping on the family property in Winchester, NH.
She was active as a member of Woodville Baptist Church in Hopkinton, MA as a clerk for 30 years before moving to Wells, Maine where she is now an active member of the Ogunquit Baptist Church.
She is a graduate of Hopkinton High School, Class of 1950, as well as studying at the Middlesex Secretarial School in Framingham, MA. She has battled a heart disease most of her life but managed to enjoy many activities in spite of this.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 15th at 10:30 a.m. at the Ogunquit Baptist Church, 157 Shore Road, Ogunquit, ME. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association via the website: Americanheart.org to the Virginia Mary Hatch Memorial.
