Obituary of Mary Lou Louise Erickson

Mary Louise (Haley) Erickson, 69, of York, Maine left this earth on Sunday, February 16, 2014 after living with Alzheimer's Disease since 2010. She passed peacefully at her home in York, ME. Mary Lou was born February 10, 1945, the 2nd daughter of the late Robert “Frank” Haley and Mary (Dwyer) Haley of Winchester and Scituate, MA. She grew up in Winchester, MA, later living in Carlisle, MA and Scituate, MA before retiring in York, ME where she fulfilled her dream of running a Bed & Breakfast. Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 28yrs, Robert “Bob” Erickson, Sr., her daughter Catherine “Cathi” (Conant) Richie and husband Jeremy of Taylor, TX, her daughter Susan Conant (Wilson) and husband Brian of York, ME, her step-son Robert “Rob” Erickson, Jr. and wife Bernadette of Scituate, MA, and three sisters Nancy Quinn of Pembroke, MA, Susan Geary of Marshfield, MA and Sally Scott of Winchester, MA. Mary Lou is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Laura and Ethan Wilson of York, ME and Joshua and Jacob Richie of Taylor, TX. Mary Lou was a lifelong employee of the telephone company (NET, Nynex,Verizon) before retiring and moving to York, ME with her husband, Bob, where she opened and operated 'The Apple Blossom B&B'. She loved running her B&B, but her greatest passion was her grandchildren. She was blessed first with granddaughter Laura followed by grandsons Joshua, Jacob and Ethan. A memorial mass will be held in Mary Lou's honor at St. Mary of the Nativity, 1 Kent Street, Scituate Harbor, MA 02066 on May 13, 2014 @ 10:00am. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to The Alzheimer's Association in memory of Mary Lou Erickson a Tribute Fund can be found at alz.org or the Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem, MA.
