Obituary of Rena Elwell Parent

RENA E. (ELWELL) PARENT, 79 of Brooks, passed away on September 9, 2014 in Belfast. She was born on October 25, 1934 in Brooks, the daughter of George and Bertha (Curtis) Elwell. In her early years, Rena loved to dance. She was also self-taught on many instruments and loved music. Rena was known for her flowers and loved gardening, quilting and traveling, especially to Arizona. Rena also loved going out to eat at least once a day. Her family will remember her competitive spirit playing Jeopardy. One of her greatest loves was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents; husband Edgar Parent and sister Ann Ward. She is survived by her loving children, Colby Crossman and significant other Kelly Tarrant of Taunton, MA, Cinda Young of Brooks and Cary Crossman and wife Michelle of Taunton, MA; her siblings, Edward Elwell and wife Ruby, Avis Bradford and husband Earl, and Georgia Trask and husband Ronnie; her grandchildren, Carrie Plentus , Danielle, Daniel, Deborah and Erin Crossman. And great-grandson Chase Kinney; many nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 16 at 1 p.m. at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta.
