Obituary of Laura P. Sweeney

New Sweden - Laura P. Sweeney, 84, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 in Caribou. She was born April 24, 1930, in Caribou. The daughter of Leon and Roseanna (Paradis) Plourde. She graduated from Caribou High School, class of 1947. Had a career as an Insurance Agent with T.W. McLaughlan Agency and retired in 1979. After retiring she cared for many area children. She always enjoyed a great game of Scrabble. Laura married Ervin J. Sweeney, October 31, 1950. Laura was predeceased by her husband, Ervin and 4 sisters. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Kim Sweeney of Stockholm; a grandson, Adam Belhumeur, of Rhode Island; a granddaughter Jessica Sullivan and her husband Daniel, of Rhode Isle; 3 brothers; 5 sisters; several nieces and nephews. As requested by Laura, there will be no services. Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine, Belfast.
