Obituary of Maurice H. Belden

Maurice H. Belden Sr., 81, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at his daughter's home in Stockton Springs, Maine. He was born January 21, 1934 in Liberty, Maine, the son of Howard Belden and Eva Ludwick Belden Harvey. Maurice lived in Windsor, CT for around the last 51 years. He was a member of the Windsor Connecticut Elks Lodge for over the past 20 years and last worked at Precision Speed for 25 years. Maurice loved to play golf and watch sports, specifically the Red Sox. Maurice is survived by 5 children, Beverly Walton of Searsport, Maine, Maurice H. Belden Jr. and Shelley Gray of Searsport, Maine, Kenneth Belden and his wife Sheila of Swanville, Maine, Shirley Jean Bishop and Jeffrey Merry of Stockton Springs, Maine, Paul Belden and his wife Lori of Belfast, Maine, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Maurice was predeceased by his loving wife Frances M. (Alday) Belden in 1992 also predeceased by his 4 siblings and his parents. Services will be held at Riposta Funeral home in Belfast, Maine on Saturday June 27th. Viewing from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, services from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm and graveside services immediately following at Hunts Cemetery in Liberty, Maine. There will be a celebration of life at the American Legion Hall on Church Street in Belfast, Maine immediately following the graveside services.
