Obituary of Dale C Crowley

Dale Crowley Sr., 75, born March 22, 1941 in Addison, ME, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 22, 2016. Dale graduated from Jonesport High School in 1959. He married the love of his life, Dorthea Lamson; they resided in Jonesport, where they started their family. In 1968 they moved their family to South Portland, Maine. Dale worked for General Electric for 18 years, at the South Portland plant and later at the Charleston, SC plant until he retired. Dale and Dorthea returned to Maine where they lived in Wells for a short time and finally settled back in Addison. They started lobster fishing together until he officially retired in 2013 due to health conditions. Dale is predeceased by his mother Hazel Gray Crowley, a brother Michael C. Crowley, and his father Calvin C. Crowley. Dale is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorthea Lamson Crowley of Addison; his sister Velma Farnsworth, her husband John Farnsworth, and brother in-law Ernest Lamson; his four children: Teresa Crowley and Russell Barry of Alfred, ME, Sharon and Henry Townsend of Lyman, ME, Dale Jr. and Judy Crowley of No. Waterboro, ME and Danielle and Donnie Whitten of Wells, ME; twelve grandchildren: Joseph Giberti, Matthew Giberti, Nicole Sellers, Cherisse Sellers, Page Townsend, Timothy Crowley, Daniel Crowley, Megan Crowley, Alyssa Crowley, Tyler Whitten, Evan Whitten, and Conner Whitten; eight great-grandchildren: Finley Labbe, Sophia Giberti, Madison Lariviere, Brooklyn Lariviere, Jaiden Crowley, Logan Giberti, Kayson Lindquist, Oliver Crowley, his beloved chocolate labs Max and Mandy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2016, at 2 pm at the Community Church of Christ, in Jonesport, Maine. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Dale’s name to the National Kidney Foundation at www.Kidney.org.
