Obituary of Norman C. Blake

Norman C. Blake, aged 80, passed peacefully in his sleep on August 8th, 2019. Norman was born in Liberty, Maine on October 3, 1938. After serving in the Vietnam War, Norman returned to Maine, marrying his wife of 52 years, Dianne (Aldus) Blake, deceased. They built their lives in Belfast, Maine with his children Jeffrey A. Blake, Paula M. Kavanagh, Kevin W. Blake, Jan B. Winchester, and Nicole A. Blake. Norman was the son of Gleason and Amy Blake, formerly of Searsport, Maine. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage, walking in the woods, and slipping candy to his nine grandchildren. Norman always focused on the fun side of life, had a great sense of humor, never turned down a costume, and loved a good practical joke. Norman was one of nine children and liked nothing more than visiting with his siblings, drinking coffee, eating pastries, and reminiscing stories of their childhood. Norman retired from the Bucksport Paper Mill after 35 years. He will be missed. Coffee, sweets, and stories will be shared at a memorial gathering on Thursday, August 15th, 2019 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, Me.
