Obituary of Roberta Ann Wren

Roberta Ann Wren went to be with the Lord on August 7, 2019. Born in Lincoln, Maine on September 1, 1937, daughter of Alonzo and Mary (Murphy) Shedd. She attended local schools, graduating high school in 1955. Roberta later attended Husson College graduated with a business and secretarial degree. Roberta married the love of her life, Robert C. Wren, on August 7, 1960. Through the years, they raised a family together and lived in Bangor, Thorndike, Belfast and Stockton Springs, Maine. She enjoyed working at Waldo Regional Vocational School, Waldo County Superior Court and with the officers at the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office, where she had a lifelong friendship with Sheriff Stan Knox and his wife Mary Knox. Roberta also enjoyed many years of teaching Sunday school, Vacation Bible School and volunteering in the church. Roberta is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years, Robert, her daughter Linda (David) Grisham of Portland, son Bobby (Christine) Wren of Levant, and daughter Lisa (Brian) Penley of Saco; also surviving are her grandchildren, Jamie, Kathleen, Sam, Hunter, Angela, Denice, Richard and Colby, as well as many great grandchildren, whom Roberta especially treasured. She also leaves behind a sister Linda, a brother Douglas, a beloved sister in law Charlene, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family wishes to thank Tall Pines and Beacon Hospice for their loving care at the end of Roberta’s life. Special appreciation to Dr. Delehanty for over 30 years of exceptional medical care. A funeral will take place at the Stockton Springs Community Church on Monday, August 12 at 1pm with graveside prayers to follow at Dixmont Corner Cemetery.
