Obituary of Clifton Kenneth Grass

WALDO Clifton Kenneth Grass, 61, of Waldo went home to be with the Lord and fly with the angels on June 14, 2019. He died at his home in Waldo with his daughter, Lisa, and a special friend, Joyce Jewell, at his side. Clifton was born on January 16, 1958, in Plymouth, Maine, son of Percy and Myrtle (Nichols) Grass. He started his education at a one-room schoolhouse in Dixmont and finished it in Belfast. He worked many different jobs in and around Belfast throughout his life. For many years he owned and operated his own lawn care business. He ended his working life at Duck Trap in Belfast where he worked for 10 years until being diagnosed with cancer. Even after his diagnosis, Clifton had a wonderful sense of humor. You never knew what he was up to or what he was going to say next to make someone laugh. Never a shy man, he would strike up conversations everywhere he went, even with complete strangers, and always left people with smiles on their faces. In addition to his parents, Clifton was predeceased by two brothers; David and Michael, and three sisters; Rosy, Diane, and Barbara. Clifton is survived by four children; Virginia Grass of Bangor and her children Desteny and Teddy Harris, Lisa Moody of Belfast, her husband Dwain and children Isaac, Ashton, and Autumn, Kenneth Grass of Hampden and his children Ryleigh and step-daughter Zoey, Victoria Burns of Appleton, her partner Jason Littlefield and children Victoria, Sebrina, Juliana and Jay, three brothers; Robert Grass and his wife Rebecca of Northport, and Stanley and John Grass, both of Belfast, three sisters; Beverly Pattershall of Stockton Springs, Caroline Grass of Naples, and Jane Brown and her friend Steve Jacobs of Searsmont, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
