I am so sorry to hear this. My Daddy called him "Georgie", and truly loved him. I loved walking to the store from home. We children always talked Mom into needing something so we could go. A truly great person. He will be missed. Olga (Hussey) Rumney

It is with a great deal of sadness that we learn of George's passing. He was a true gentleman and it was always a pleasure to spend time with him. Over the years as we vacationed in Liberty we were usually lucky enough to see him either at his home or at Hannafords in Belfast, and it was always a pleasure to exchange pleasantries with him. George, as most people remember worked with my father and grandfather for many years prior to opening his own business, and after my grandfather stopped servicing automobiles, he always took care of our vehicles. On occasion if the walkway at the house wasn't plowed he would make a pass up the walk on his way to work or home for lunch. He was one of the nicest people we had the pleasure of knowing, and it was an honor and pleasure to call him Friend. Rest in Peace my Friend. Doug and Gail Banks

George was a kind and gentle man, so friendly and always helpful. His role on the school board helped Jim get his first teaching job at Walker School. The summer we got married, George, Smitty and Dawn took a trip to Alaska... while they were gone, we stayed in their house (our first home!) and Jim minded the store. We have fond memories of George and his family. Our condolences to Juanita, Dawn and the rest of the family. Jim and Arlene Flye
