Obituary of John P. Sargent

John “Peter” P. Sargent, 75, died on March 11, 2019 with his loving wife by his side at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home in Waterville. He was born on May 23, 1943 in Framingham, Mass. The son of Roscoe and Winifred (Treadwell) Sargent. He got his GED from Mt. View High School in Thorndike. Peter was married to his first wife Helen (Dukeshire) for 20 years. In his younger years he drove truck in Massachusetts and after moving to Maine married his second wife Sandra and together, they owned and operated Sargent Small Engine repair doing repair for four Home Depot stores. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and being on his C-B scanner. Peter will be remembered for his love of talking and telling stories. He was predeceased by his parents; first wife Helen; brothers Roscoe and William Sargent Sr. and sister Ann. Peter is survived by his beloved wife Sandra; several nieces and nephews; goddaughter Tonya Sargent; special niece Elsie Shaw and husband Herb and Bill Sargent; brothers Kenneth and wife Angela, Louis and wife Aitbala, Donald and wife Pam, brothers in law Delton Curtis and wife Rebecca, and Rodger Littlefield Jr. A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday March 20, 2019 from 3-5 pm at Riposta Funeral Home 182 Waldo Ave. Belfast, Me.
