Obituary of Carol L. Yonts

Carol L. Yonts 85, of Belfast, died peacefully on February 25, 2019. She was born on March 27, 1933, in Bismark, ND to Lyland and Harold Breen. She began her career in bookkeeping / payroll at the Coca Cola Bottling company in Bismark. She later moved to Los Angeles, CA, then to Farmington, NM, from there to Denver, CO. Finally, in the last few years, her adventures brought her to Searsport, ME. She loved to knit and crochet, play Bunko and Poker, and she loved music. She enjoyed spending time with her friends. She was an avid reader, devouring a book a day; she moved on to audio books as her eyesight failed. Later in life, her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and family. Carol was truly one of a kind, with a quick wit right up until the end. Carol leaves behind a large family: her daughter, Tracy Tufo and her husband, Mark Tufo of Frankfort, ME; their three children, Nicole Fletcher (Hal) of Henniker, NH; Justin Tufo (Tina) of Holden, ME; and Travis Tufo of Portland, ME. Her great grandchildren: Ali, Wesley, and Oakley. Her sisters: Rosalie Strauss (George) of Longmont, CO; Harolyn Huerta (Joe) of Longmont, CO; and Jean Kaizer of Wiconsin; and her sister-in-law Bernice Yonts of Denver, CO. She also leaves many nieces and nephews, and a great many friends. She was predeceased by her husband Everet Yonts, her brother Ronald, her brother Donald, and her parents Lyland and Harold Breen. A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 16 at 5:30 pm at Riposta Funeral Home 182 Waldo Ave, Belfast, ME 04915. Carol will be laid to rest in Vona, Colorado, next to her husband.
