Obituary of Sarah Ann Leclerc

Sarah Ann Leclerc 27 was taken from us tragically in a car accident December 24, 2018. Sarah was born in Fort Kent, Maine on September 4, 1991 to Pierre and Michelle Leclerc. She moved to Brooks, Maine with her family in 2001. Sarah graduated from Mount View High School in Thorndike, Maine in 2009. She pursued a career in holistic massage therapy earning her certificate from Spa Tech. in Portland, Maine. She practiced her craft at Eden Day Spa in Pittsfield and at Ananda yoga and wellness studio in Belfast. Sarah loved working alongside all of you talented, beautiful women! Sarah relieved many aches and pain right here at home for many members of our family and dear close friends. She was a passionate animal lover and we never knew when the next stray cat or dog would be brought into the home. In fact, we would not have our dog Chief (a rescue dog) if it wasn’t for Sarah. Chief, who we now cherish even more, as he symbolizes her compassion for all creatures. His long legs, endless enthusiasm and abundant affection are all reminders of our Sarah. She was a lover of all wild life, whether it walked, crawled or slithered (snakes were her favorite). Sarah was very involved in the Belfast addiction recovery community. She helped and was helped by many members of that community. She attended countless meetings and for a period spoke to women at the women's prison during their meetings. Sarah had years of sobriety (clean time) and periods of weakness, but always returned to her recovery community to regain her foothold on the life she cherished, that of motherhood and family. It is a real comfort to her family and friends to know that it wasn’t her illness that took her life, but that she was on her way to perform an act of kindness for a friend. Sarah was a daughter, sister, mom, and a friend. She will be dearly missed by her daughter Sophia Nolting, Sophia’s father Nate, Nate’s family and Kate, his loving partner., Sarah's parents Michelle and Pierre, her sister Lydia Taylor and brother-in-law Patrick Taylor and niece Berkley, her brother Avery. Her grandparents Jean and Celine Leclerc and Beatrice Furbish, her aunts/uncles Diane and Don Bialecki, France Moulton, Patrick and Debra Leclerc, Sherman Robbins, and Darren Labbe. Her cousins Chad, Shane, Eric, Emily and Alex. Her numerous great aunts and uncles, the Canadian cousins, her Brooks neighborhood family, her NA family and too many friends to list. Sarah’s Celebration of Life will be held at the Wentworth Event Center, 139 Searsport Avenue, Belfast, Maine on Saturday January 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your local animal shelter or SPCA as Sarah would have loved that.
