Obituary of Joseph H. Bryant

Joseph H. Bryant, 87, of Thorndike, Maine died at his home on Saturday, November 17, 2018. A devoted husband of Beatrice (Gardiner) Bryant. Joe was the son of Joseph F. and Clara (Wardsworth) Bryant. He was born in Knox, Maine on June 22, 1931. He and Bea were co-owners of Bryant Steel Works. Joe was an inventor, a custom steel fabricator, and held a patent for Bryant Sanders. In his later years, he created the Bryant Doll Circus and found joy in sharing his creation with the public. Joe and Bea were collectors of antiquities and created a museum of their favorite items collected over the years. Joe loved giving tours of their museum pieces and days before his death was still out sharing his love for antiques and music with people. In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by two sons, Timothy and Kenneth. Joe is survived by his wife of 68 years, Beatrice; daughter Katherine, and husband Lon Thorpe, of Warner, New Hampshire; son Clayton, and wife Debbie of Knox; son Malcolm, and wife Rose, of Warner, New Hampshire; son Roy, and wife Kathy, of Unity; daughter Julie, and husband Torie, of Thorndike; daughter Fay Lataille of Unity; 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday the 24th of November, 2018, at 1:00pm at the Knox Ridge Baptist Church, 115 Knox Ridge North, Knox, Maine 04986. In lieu of flowers, Beatrice wishes everyone to remember her favorite charity, Buttons for Babes which helps raise funds for children with critical needs.
