Obituary of Frank A. Mignone

Frank A. Mignone, 88, passed away March 2, 2018 at Harbor Hill in Belfast. Frank was born in Oceanside, NY on April 27, 1929 to the late Carmine and Alesandra Mignone. He was raised in NY and then moved his family to Maine in the summer of 1980. Frank was a charter member of the Sons of Italy, Rocky Point, NY. He was the owner of Shoreham Oil Service in Shoreham NY and then Belfast Burner Service in Maine. Frank enjoyed retirement and could be found daily at Bowens Tavern for breakfast. Frank was predeceased by his parents and his siblings, Dom and Polly. Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Laila Mignone of Belfast; his children, Alicia Skalla and her husband Robert, Lawrence C. Mignone and his wife Colleen and Frances Flagg and her husband Andrew; his sisters, Madelena Costanza and Margaret Strangio; his grandchildren, Josh, Bri, Alex and Nick and his great grandchildren Gibson and Harmon. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday March 10, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast Maine. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Frank’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and/or Make a Wish Foundation.
