Obituary of Georgie M. Button

Georgie M. (Curtis) Button, 76, of Belfast died on February 15, 2018 at Tallpines. She was born on April 18, 1941 in Belfast the daughter of Charles and Helen (Flanders) Curtis. Georgie graduated from Crosby High School class of 1960. She met Edward Button Sr. on a blind date and they married in 1962 and started their family. Georgie enjoyed being a homemaker and babysitting for others children as well. She loved to square dance and curl with her husband and they were members at the Northport Grange. Georgie also taught Sunday School at Belfast United Methodist Church when her children were young. She is predeceased by her parents, sister, husband and son Charlie. Georgie is survived by her children Edward Button Jr. of Belfast and Helen Rhodes of West Gardiner; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Tallpines for their care and kindness to Georgie for the last nine years. Visiting hours will be held on Monday February 19, 2018 from 2-3pm at Riposta Funeral Home 182 Waldo Ave. Belfast, where a funeral service will follow at 3pm.
