Years ago when I moved to palermo to fix up my families old homestead I joined the palermo fire department...it wasn't long after joining I had thethe privilege of working along side this man of few words...on fire scenes he was all business...I was never sure what late night attire George would show up in...could be a pair of shorts accompanied by his rubber boots,you just never knew...one thing you did know is he would be there over seeing the scene doing whatever needed to be done...years later he would come to the house with his son to trap bait from one of my farm ponds to go fishing..it didn't matter in which capacity I saw George he was always friendly and easy going...my thoughts and prayers go to the family and to his extended family of the brotherhood of fire fighting during this loss of a giving and caring man.rest easy George .... Heaven just gained one of the most respected chiefs I have had the honor of working with...
